Ok guys, if you are open to NoFap and you are interested in getting stronger then stay with me here because this is going to be interesting.

So, can NoFap help you build muscle?

Yes, Nofap can really help you build muscle...

This is what I believe and I’ll tell you why in a moment, but before I do let’s just get one thing out of the way right from the start...

...unlike many of you think, NoFap does not cause a higher baseline level of testosterone in your blood.

As you can see, the testosterone levels start to rise on day 6 and then there is a huge spike on day 7. Then on day 8 the levels start to come back down...

...until finally reaching baseline on day 9 where the levels will continue to stay, even if you keep abstaining. 

Androgen receptors on NoFap...

Now, here comes something interesting, it's not just about testosterone.

We have these things called androgen receptors as well, and in order for testosterone to do its job the testosterone has to lock on to these androgen receptors, and listen carefully now...

...studies made on rats clearly shows that if the rats bust a lot of nuts (ejaculates to exhaustion) the number of androgen receptors goes down.

This means that now the rat gets less effects from the testosterone.

It takes anywhere between 7-15 days for the recptors to upregulate...

It took the rats about 7-15 days for the androgen receptor density to grow back to baseline levels. 

Ok, great, so now we understand that frequent fapping causes downregulation of androgen receptors and thus we get less effects of the testosterone we produce, BUT NOW here comes the million dollar question...

...Could a longer period of abstinence further increase the number of receptors once baseline levels are reached? 

There are no studies done on this, that I am aware of, but given the fact that the androgen receptors are so sensitive to ejaculations, it would not surprise me if they could.

Fighters have been using abstinence as a secret weapon...

I personally believe that this is the case and it would certainly explain why for example elite fighters for centuries have used abstinence, weeks leading up to an important fight.

In fact, it has almost been like a secret weapon they used to become stronger.

Now, of course there are hundreds of guys reporting the same and I believe that the androgen receptor upregulation is one explanation, however I think that there are even more interesting things going on, and I take a really deep dive into this in a blog post I wrote a couple of days ago.

In that blog post I also share my personal strength gains while doing NoFap and I also share an interesting NoFap workout routine that takes advantage of the 7’th day testosterone spike for even more muscle gains. It’s like a biological NoFap hack for more gains.

However, A warning though, don’t use that NoFap workout program if you have problems with frequent relapses to online adult entertainment. But you’ll see what I mean when you read the blog post.
